You are right, I had probably under-rated Children of Men.
That’s mainly because of a few unbelievable coincidences that in my opinion spoil the overall quality of the movie. For instance: how happens that the hunters find the house where they found shelter in the woods? And also: the upraising of the ghetto happening exactly in the afternoon of the flee.
(and a few others).
After your comment I end up rating them at the same level:
- Children of Men starts from a nice idea and scenario, but I don’t like the filmmaking.
- The book of Eli has a pretty weak background and scenario, while the filmmaking and some actors are good.
Yeah, I don’t follow your logic in the slightest. I found Children of Men one of the more unforced films (considering its topic and the genre) one can imagine. The acting was top notch and the characters fully realized…
